Frequently Asked Question
Q. How many days a week will I be studying?
A. Students are scheduled to attend a minimum of 3 days a week Monday to Friday between 8am - 10pm. This will comprise of two 7 hours classes of theory and a 6 hour practical class.
Q. How many holidays breaks do we get?
A. Students will have all public holidays off, 3 Term breaks will be scheduled in the year each 1 week in duration, and 8 weeks for the Christmas break.
Q. When do I find out my results?
A. Once the Trainer has marked the assessment he/she will notify the students of any results during class. Also each student will be issued a report card at the end of each semester for their own records provided that they have no outstanding fees.
Q. How much will I have to pay for a re-sit?
A. If you've failed your first attempt on assessment day you will be given a free assessment/re-sit. However if you were absent on the assessment day or no assignments had been submitted on the due date fees may apply unless a medical certificate or any supporting documents are provided.
Q. Is public transport easily accessible?
A. Yes. Footscray train station is only 2 minutes walk from HMIA. Footscray Bus interchange is located at Irving, Paisley and Leeds Streets which is only a 2 minute walk from the train station. Taxis and the Maribyrnong/Highpoint tram are also available from Leeds Street, Footscray. (Visit Metlink for more information.)
